Ted Simpson Award Nominees Announced!Posted: April 22, 2014
MSABC is pleased to announce the top three nominees (in no particulary order) for the Ted Simpson Award. This award is given to a registered MSABC Masters Swimmer who has achieved distinguished results in the current swim season. Results from Worlds, Nationals, Provincials, and local meets, improvement in personal best times, overcoming injury, illness and/or disability are all considered for this award.
At 65, Anne is the only one in her age category to have swum the 400 IM this year. She has been working toward, and is succeeding at, achieving the individual high points in her age group. You can learn more here.
Len has over 180 pounds through swimming and other activities, almost half of his pre-swimming body weight. Seven years ago he swam 50 free in 55 seconds. He recently swim it in 35.6. You can learn more here.
Holding several Canadian records Fred is ninety-four years old and an outstanding example of what masters swimming is all about. You can learn more here.
The winner will be announced at the MSABC annual banquet being held Saturday, April 26 at The Sandman Hotel “The Okanagan” Banquet Room, 2130 Harvey Avenue, Kelowna, BC Canada V1Y 6G8.
